Eve of Destruction movie Helicopter Night Ops On Hill 937, in WMV format.
Hi, Poor Yurik here!
Right off the bat I want to give props to the EoD team. I haven't had this much fun with a mod in years. Not since my time on Counter-Strike, and before that playing the first few versions of Quakeworld Team Fortress, have I been this excited about a mod's potential.
While making this video I decided that due to how big movie files are, rather than try to cover everything the mod has to offer in one clip, I'd dedicate all the film time to a single aspect that I found extremely enjoyable (and extremely challenging to do well!)...Helicopter night ops on "Hill 937" (day OR night) :D
I hope you guys enjoy this movie as much as I enjoyed making it. To be honest I took all this footage in less than 30 minutes on a public server (ninjaserve! <3) after several hours of non-stop play, right as the server was starting to clear out because it was so damn late (around 4am). I was sporadically recording and just had a jumble of random footage. To the testament of how awesome EoD is, purely from this random, completely unplanned footage on a near empty server, I pulled out all these great clips.
I might make more videos in the future highlighting other aspects of the mod.
Special thanks to all the players who unknowningly participated in making this video possible! You guys did great! :D
BF1942/Vietcong/etc players: EoD needs more love! Make it so!

PS to the EoD team:
You guys have a tough road ahead of you with BF: Vietnam in the works, but if anyone can be a worthy peer to DICE in the Vietnam War semi-realism arena, it's you! CS didn't back down in light of the R6 games, just as Day of Defeat wasn't worried about the Medal of Honors of the world. Some people, such as myself, dislike vanilla 1942 but stick around for it only because of the high quality, well crafted mods (Forgotten Hope www.fhmod.com is another one I enjoy).
Of course you guys have a much bigger challenge than CS or DoD had due to the huge deluge of war game fps's hitting the market over the last few years (most everyone is now jaded as a result), but remember that that deluge is in no small part the result of how successful mods can change the face of gaming. Plus, where's the satisfaction without a challenge, right? :)
EoD is the only reason BF1942 is on my hard drive. That should say it all!
